Schools and events

As a trained teacher with lots of classroom experience and 10 years’ experience running workshops, tours and talks in museums, I love visiting schools and working with children, in both formal and informal settings.

• Successful school visits are the best thing ever and I will help any school prepare for my visit.
  On booking, schools will receive information packs, containing advice for helping my visit go smoothly and a short excerpt from my book to share with kids before my visit.

• All my sessions include a reading and time for a Q&A. I actively encourage children to ask questions!

• I’m always thrilled to sign books (preferably my own) and love working with local independent bookshops to arrange pre-visit book orders that can then be signed on the day.

• Day and half-day school visits can be made up of any activities from the menu below, for example: a half-day booking might consist of a KS1 assembly, a KS2 assembly plus time for author signings. A full-day booking could involve one assembly and up to four workshops or two assemblies and up to three workshops, plus time for signings.
